Designed For You

A hand holding a piece of chalk draws arrows on a dark chalkboard linking the words “THEORY” and “PRACTICE,” illustrating the connection between thinking and doing.

Sometimes we reach a point in our business where we suddenly notice the life we’re living… doesn’t quite match the one we wanted.

It’s a strange moment.

Quiet. Subtle.

But unmistakable when it arrives.

And over the years, speaking with entrepreneurs and business owners from every industry imaginable, I’ve learned this moment is far more common than people admit.

Because here’s the thing we don’t talk about enough:

Entrepreneurship isn’t always the dream we were sold. Sometimes it becomes a life we drifted into rather than a life we designed.

We see the social media version, full of freedom, flexibility, upside, and fulfilment. But behind the scenes? It’s often long hours, relentless responsibility, and a calendar that seems to own you more than you own it.

Not because people aren’t capable. Not because they aren’t committed. But the business is slowly becoming misaligned with who they are now.

The conversation no one seems to have

A lot of the founders I speak with aren’t chasing Lamborghinis or unicorn exits. They’re chasing alignment.

A business that feels like home, not a business that looks impressive to tourists.

But it’s hard to admit this when the world keeps shouting: “More! Bigger! Faster! Scale! Grind!”

But, the thing is… Most business owners I meet don’t want that. They want clarity, peace of mind, and the space to think again.

My own journey taught me this the hard way

Leaving corporate life wasn’t about chasing hustle culture. It was about following curiosity and seeing where it led.

But even then, I discovered how easy it is for entrepreneurship to take over everything,  your time, your headspace, your energy, your identity.

I had to relearn a simple truth: Happiness comes from alignment.

And when I share this with business owners, I see the relief on their faces. It’s the first time many have heard someone say out loud what they’ve quietly felt for years.

So here’s the real question…

Is the business you’re building designed for who you actually are or who you once thought you needed to be?

If that question stings a little, that’s a good thing. And you’re not doing anything wrong.

It simply means change is calling.

Have a brilliant week!
